the public policy arena.
Upcoming Issues That Will Effect Your Business; We Are Not Finished!
DMCAR is working with business leaders and the Colorado Association of REALTORS® to ensure that Amendments
60, 61 and proposition 101 do not pass. If passed, Colorado would experience a self imposed recession created
through tax cuts that would cause job loss. Additionally, the borrowing power of the State will be diminished,
preventing new development. Join us in the effort to oppose these issues by contributing to PSF.
Make a $20 Commitment
DMCAR asks each of you to make a commitment by contributing $20 to PSF when you pay your dues bill this year.
We assure you, your money will be well spent and you will get back more than 10 fold on your contribution.
DMCAR is Your Advocate as a Commercial Broker
Broker Lien Law
As your public policy advocate, DMCAR affected big change over this last year for you. We fought for a law that gives
commercial brokers the right to lien property if a commission is not paid under certain criteria. With the help from
commercial brokers across the City, the Broker Lien Proposal made its way to the Governor’s desk and is now law.
We extend sincere thanks to all of you that supported this issue. Join us for the class shown below to learn more.
Commercial Aspects of Denver’s Zoning Code Update
The new Code was adopted in late June and is in effect today. DMCAR has been the leading business group on
issues pertaining to commercial property and has consistently been on the front lines with the City when it comes to
planning and zoning. As a member of the Business Retail Working Group (BRWG) our work resulted in 18
recommendations that were adopted in the new Code. Great sites to visit include www.NewCodeDenver.org
